Objectives
The students become familiar with different translation techniques and subject matters. They also learn to proceed with sense using different translation tools (CAT tools, electronic tools, databases).

Topics
The course is developed linearly and thematically. The students translate text of general subjects.

Prerequisites
Bachelor in languages and a thorough knowledge of Spanish and English.

Final Objectives
The students can transfer an English text of general nature and a medium degree of difficulty in proper and idiomatic Spanish using the right tools.

P. Muñoz Tavira, TRANSLATION ENGLISH-SPANISH: course written by the lecturer with bibliography, theory about certain problems translating from English into Spanish, authentic English documents and translation exercises. The course is sold at the reprography service.

The students often receive their translations corrected and with comments.

Teaching Methods

2. Task (team work). The task must be submitted before the start of the exam period.

Assessment
Exam form: permanent evaluation (1/4) + written exam (3/4).
Details: the permanent evaluation consists on two tasks accomplished during the college weeks. The written exam consist on a translation of a text of approximately 300-350 words with internet access.
