Objectives
-The student proves to possess basic scientific knowledge of textile technology

Topics
The student makes a study of the literature or a minor scientific experiment starting from a case or a problem in the field of textile technology. This results in a paper (+/- 15 pages)

-Having a critical , creative, critical and scientific mind
-To be able to communicate and to make a rport concerning scientific and technical problems

-To have the ability to make relations between different scientific disciplines in order to understand technical problmes and processes

-To be able to applicate in a creative manner the knowledge of fibers, dyes, colur measurement , chemicals and auxiliaries
-To be able to analyse dyind and finishing processes, textile printing and their apllication technology
-To be able to analyse the environmental impact of textile printing, dying and finishing.
-To be able to analyse spinning methods
-To be able to analyse the weave and to applicate them for new developments
-To have the knowledge of production methods for carpet, non woven, tuft and knitting

A reading commission makes the assesment.
Further explanation is given (max 30 minutes) during an oral confrontation

However, if a student gains a score of 7 or less on 20 on one of the different courses (parts of training items), he proves that his skill for certain subcompetencies is insufficient. Consequently, one can turn from the arithmetical calculation of the final assignment of quotas of a training item and the new marks can be awarded on consensus. Of course the examiners can judge that the arithmetic regulations mentioned in the study index card can also be used for 7 or less. For each deviation a detailed motivation ought to be drawn up. In that case one should point out that the skill for this subcompetency is proven to be insufficient, if the student didn’t pass the partim that is considered to be important for certain subcompetencies.
