Objectives
The purpose of this course is to achieve a solid base and a clear insight into the conceptual approach regarding the atomic and molecular structure, phenomena and reactions of matter in gaseous , liquid , solid phases and in aqueous solutions.
The fundamental concepts and models inclusive the basic principles and related calculationmethods are instructed in the derived practice sessions.

Topics
Theory:
* Atomic and electronic structure
* Chemical bonding and derived issues ( types of chemical bonds, EA, EN,...,VSEPR, hybrid atomic orbitals, molecular orbitals,...)
* Gases, liquids and solids; phase changes
* Intermolecular attractions and related characteristics in liquids and aqueous solutions
* Reactions in water: volumetry
* Chemical equilibrium in gaseous systems and in aqueous solutions
* Solubility - and complication equilibria
* Electrochemical basic principles: galvanic cells, pH measurements and electrolysis
Exercises:
* The inorganic basic principles, manipulations and related calculations are illustrated and practised.

Prerequisites
Course starts with the elementary issues
Knowledge of the basic principles is an advantage
