Objectives

Bringing the students in contact with frequently used and new technologies
in connection with cutting and forming techniques, so they are capable of
choosing their working methods independently.

Topics

- APT programming on CNC machines (MAZAK control)
- Measuring systems on CNC machines
- DNC systems General review programming methods
- Cutting time and power calculations for lathe, drilling and milling
- CAD CAM. Study of Mastercam mill and lathe, connection with CNC machines
- General review of conventional and non-conventional production techniques:
EDM, laserworking, waterjetcutting, ultrasonic milling, Electro chemical
machining, high speed milling, Sheet metal (summary different techniques)
etc..

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of CNC programming on lathe and milling machines

Final Objectives

Materials used

Syllabus, personal safety clothes

Study costs

Study guidance

Teaching Methods

Theoretical sessions (2 hours/week first semester, 1 hour/week second
semester), practical sessions (4hours every 14 days)
Students with problems concerning these technologies can receive extra
information from the proper teachers.

Assessment

Assessment for theoretical sessions: written tests and oral examinations,
for practical sessions it is necessary to prepare the individual exercises.
Theoretical knowledge is necessary.
