Objectives
The student must know the more common organic compounds and there qualities and dangers, and in order to understand the courses biochemistry, pharmacologie and others in the 2d and 3th year he must understand the most important reaction-mechanisms of synthesis. Thereby obtainig knowledge which is indispensable for every labchemist.
The most important objective of the lab exercises is to get experienced with the most current basic laboratory techniques. Great attention is therefore given to the aspects of security and the sense for accuracy and appliance.

Topics
Carbon and the carbohydrogenes: Alkanes, alkenes, aromates, alkynes/ nitrogen and phosphorous/- oxygen and sulphur- compounds/ freons and halides
Acid and bases behaviour of organic compounds
Some heterocyclic compounds
Stereochemistry and optical activity...
Important organic groups: AA, turpenes, alkaloïds, steroïds, crown-ethers, fullerenes and pigments
Organic reactivity, mechanisms, property and syntheses
