Objectives
Aims: Students:
- Accurately formulate notions and definitions that we used form a CA perspective.
- Distinguish the mechanisms that play a role in representing a certain image of people.
- Use the presented framework with respect to image representations in concrete instances.
- Express interest in the subject matter and its practibality in Social Work bij doing exercises (wheter or not in a small group), by initiating discussion about current affairs.
- Recognise, in current issues and discussions, the pitfalls of so-called differences between population groups.
- Formulate a viewpoint on the similarity and difference from the position and responsibility of the future social worker.

- an overview of the history of perceiving other cultures.
- exploration of the basic notions of CA and its approach.
- exploration of the analysis and elements that play a role in establishing a certain image of people.
- clear-cut themes such as religion, time and space, intercultural communication can be adopted.

Tutoring: Individual monitoring. Exercises are examples used at the exam.

Teaching Methods
Lectures and discussion.
Excercises and practice in smaller groups: here student try to situate insights about course themes according to examples. Illustration of the presented framework by means of video excerpts, testimonies, texts.
We discuss and analyse actuality and media.

Assessment
Written examination.
