Objectives
  1. Developing the basic knowledge started in the first en second year to develop communicative skills using authentic documents.
  2. Developing professional competences, such as efficiently looking for information, efficiently using knowledge bases, critically assessing the available information, ordering the information (through analysis, synthesis or hierarchy).

All this should help to acquire attitudes and insight in correct legal language usage and task comprehension as well as a profound knowledge of general legal vocabulary, permitting students to function correctly in communicational situations involving legal language.

Topics
  • rehearsal, consolidation and broadening of legal terms, using texts, authentic documents, multimedia, glossaries, etc. through thematic teaching;
  • oral and written communication will be emphasized and possibly assessed in the course of a cross course project;
  • listening en speech exercises, presentations, role plays, translations, etc. connected with different legal subjects will sharpen the knowledge and skills of the student;
  • occasionally references will be made to grammar items and rules to improve correctness in communication;


Prerequisites
The student must have succeeded in obtaining the objectives of the 2nd year Law Practice. He must already master the legal vocabulary of the topics of the second year.
The same applies to grammar knowledge and skills addressed in the 2nd year.
