  • to acquire new, corporate juridical and technical skills
  • to get used to the professional requirements of a workplace
  • to make contacts which may be important when applying for a job
  • to report both in writing an orally on the newly acquired juridical and social skills
Also, the internship will further develop the essential assignements - focused and professional attitudes (accuracy, flexibility, stress management, organising skills, perseverance, a scrupulous and reslult-oriented attitude, respecting confidentiality with regard to information, sociability, eagerness to learn, independency, team spirit, assertiveness, etc.).

Topics
What the internship complies is determined by the internship plan. The internship lasts 3 months and takes place in a juridical department of a company, at a notary's, lawyer's, bailiff's, etc.
The student, the mentor (from the company) and the supervisor (from the school) will come to terms concerning the contents of the paper. This agreement is arranged at the latest during the 1st weeks of the internship.
The paper will be oraly presented in June.
The mentor will be invited to attend the presentation.

Prerequisites
A three-year course has provided the student with the necessary basic competences.

Teaching Methods
The student himself/herself finds an appropriate workplace, where he/she will be given the opportunity to work and learn.
The student should be in touch with as many aspects of a professional life a possible. The internship evolves in accordance with the internship plan, which has been previously debated and agreed by the mentor, the supervisor and the student.
During the period of the internship, the supervisor will visit the student at his/her trainee post. Togheter with the mentor, he/she will evaluate the student's progress.
The student writes a report of his/her activities. He/she will give further oral comment on the report.

Assessment
During the period of the internship, the student will have the following capabilities evaluated: independency, initiative, eagerness to learn, organising skills, assertiveness, scrupulous attitude, result-focused attitude, flexibility, accuracy, goodwill, loyalty, team spirit, empathy, decisiveness, perseverance, the ability to recognize and solve problems, responsibility, productive communicative skills, etc.
The evaluation of the internship is based on several elements:
  • the evidence of the newly acquired skills during the internship (among others through the interns's report)
  • the conversations with the mentor at the traineepost (his/her experience enables us lectors to adapt our training to the real needs of the workplace).
  • the paper and the oral defence of it.
First examination:
The supervisor and the mentor coordinate on the evaluation of the paper and the internship. The contents of the paper are given a great deal of attention. Important as well is the literature that was consulted by the student. Language, syle, presentation and personal style of the conclusions are all important parameters. The oral defence also plays an important role in the evaluation. The results obtained at the company and the results obtained for the paper are calculated together and deliver the final results of the topic 'internship'.

The evaluation is divided as such:
  • internship 30%
  • paper 40%
  • presentation/defence of the paper 30%
Second examination period:
The results obtained during the internship remain the same.
The paper will be rewritten and orally defended.
