Objectives
In the final phase of their training, the students gain a deeper insight into a topical theme or a current development in the 'Social Work' domain.
They obtain a clear understanding of the social and systematic elements associated with the chosen theme.
The students develop an active and personal interest in specific themes relating to the social worker's wide field of activity.
The students also develop an attitude which is oriented towards CPD (continuous professional development).
Prerequisites
Topics
The students choose a topic from a range of topical themes on offer at the department and which are described and explained in the annual college prospectus. This range of courses includes themes such as: comparative social work (internationalization), marketing and quality assurance, man and the wider environment, preventention, intercultural training and ICT for the purposes of social work. Such a themed course is run if enough people enrol for it.
Teaching Methods
Variable teaching methods are employed: teaching segments, brainstorming, group work, assignments, ... These methods differ from theme to theme.

Scoring system:
This is done on the basis of an oral examination and/or assignments.
The relevant appraisal technique is outlined, theme by theme, in the college prospectus.
