Youth Work
Objectives
Main goal is to focus (exemplary) on a specific target group or a specific theme within socialcultural work. Students have:
- insight in the specific issues or target groups
- insight in hot topics and objectives in the field
- knowledge of methods adjacent to the target group
- evaluation skills
- reflection and critical views on policy and possibilities
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the political structures of Belgium and Flanders.
Topics
Each year one target group will be chosen (youth, immigrants, seniors,...) This year we'll focus on Youth Work.
Students will get insight in youth policy as it is implemented today on different levels. Besides some definitions, we'll focus on the different legislations and international youth work.
Student elaborate their own vision towards actual themes in the field.

Examination - yes
Period - June
Form - Students do oral examination based on an assignment. Reflection on the matter, formulating personal opinion and implementing suggestions.
