Key words
Methods of biochemical analysis

Objectives
Quality control needs accurate methods for rapid analysis. The identification and the quantification of specific biomolecules are possible by use of a great diversity of biochemical methods for analyzing even complex samples.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of biochemistry, enzymology and microbiology.

Topics
  • The use of agarose and p.a.a. gels in diverse electrophoretic separation methods for proteins and nucleic acids.
  • Detection of biomolecules by fluorescent dyes.
  • Immunological methods: diffusion, electrophoresis, ELISA
  • The detection of microbiological contamination by looking for ATP, lipides, enzymes and toxines
  • DNA-technology: in situ hybridisation, blotting, PCR and deduced methods.
  • Comparision of the classical microbiological methods and the new DBA-based methods
