Objectives
Additional knowledge of herbaceous ornamentals for cultivation in open air in garden, park, windowsill and patios. Features of following groups of ornamentals have to be known: annuals, biennials, perennials, bulbous plants. The history of garden design and garden styles are reviewed, and a number of techniques and rules are discussed and exercised for practical garden design.

* Ornamental plant cultivation in open air: use, propagation and cultivation scheme of annuals, biennials, perennials, pond plants and bulbous plants
* Use of cd-ROM with most important data about species, cultivars (colour, flowering time, size, light and soil demands...)
* History of garden design and garden styles
* techniques and rules are discussed and exercised for practical garden design
* Use of computer programs for designing gardens
